 BETA MU
Area XIII
 San Gabriel Valley
 For Women Educators

All working and retired educators are invited to attend our meetings and to join. Through common purposes and experiences, members broaden their understanding of many facets of education. This not only increases career capital, but provides time for support and networking. Regional conferences and state conventions bring together members for renowned speakers, seminars and camaraderie. DKG offers scholarships and grants for furthering one's education (certifications, master's degree, Ph.D.), leadership seminars and classroom projects.

We meet monthly on different evenings of the work week in an attempt to accommodate members' schedules. Typically, the meetings are held in Claremont (Library) or La Verne (Hillcrest) at 6:30 p.m. The general meetings always feature a guest speaker; and other meetings are centered around the high school citizenship awards, the student teacher grants, or our two Saturday luncheon/tea/boutique fundraisers.

Our chapter provides several $500 grants to student teachers and a $100 citizenship award to at least one graduating student at every high school in the Pomona, Claremont and Bonita school districts. In addition, members are eligible to apply for grants for further education (certifications, master's degree, Ph.D.), leadership seminars, and classroom projects.

We strive to support excellence in education and our own local teachers and other educators in as many ways as possible.
