Sharon Komoto, who is serving her second term as our First Vice-president, Programs, was award chapter's Most Valuable Member this year. Sharon’s work during the pandemic kept our chapter together and strong. She is flanked by co-presidents Penny Keach and Debbie Sims.
La Von Oakes is Beta Mu’s Woman in History for 2023, shown here with Cal Poly University supervisor of student teachers, Sue Nixon. Lavon was Sue’s master teacher over forty years ago! La Von was honored for her work in Beta Mu over the past 38 years, particularly for Ways and Means. A primary teacher for 25 years, La Von was a recipient of the California State Golden Bell Award for her innovative math lab.
